Inner Range is making changes to its Factory Certification programme. The changes affect the way in which Certified Technicians and Advanced Technicians renew their factory certification. This in turn will affect the recertification of Accredited Dealers.
This new programme is only open to individuals who have previously held Inner Range Factory Certification and comprises re-assessment examinations at the level for which recertification is sought. Re-assessment may be undertaken in the traditional face-to-face manner, in front of an Inner Range Assessor, or alternatively as a computer-based assessment involving written and practical tests.
The new procedure will commence on 5th April, 2004. Those Factory Certified Technicians and Accredited Dealers whose certification is due to expire before 1st June, 2004, have had their periods of certification extended automatically until 31st May, 2004, to allow them ample time to undertake the recertification programme. The following instructions explain the process in more details:
Option 1 - Face-to-face re-assessment.
Technician is notified by Inner Range by email of pending expiry of Factory Certification.
Technician downloads Recertification Application form from Printable Documents section of the Inner Range Training Web Site http://training.innerrange.com/printdocs1.cfm.
Technician completes form with personal details and brief descriptions of example Concept installations or service that technician has performed within the factory certification period. Examples should be at a level comparable to the level of recertification sought. Inner Range may contact one or more sites to validate successful completion of works. Technician indicates on the form their preference of a face-to-face re-assessment.
Technician sends Recertification Application form to closest Inner Range office, together with cheque or credit card payment for reassessment.
Inner Range contacts the technician to make arrangements for technician to be re-assessed when an Inner Range Instructor is next in that State or region.
Technician attends training venue on the arranged date to undertake re-assessment tasks.
Inner Range Instructor and Assessor validates the competence of the technician at the required level and makes a determination as to the appropriate level of certification to be issued.
A Certification Pack at the approved level is sent out to successful applicants. Certification is for a further two year period.
Should the applicant be unsuccessful in their recertification application, a recommendation for further training is made.
